Community Health Nursing (n444)

Course Number: 444

Credits: 3

Prerequisites: Current RN license

Course Description

The demands of the dynamic health care system in the United States require that nurses have an understanding of community health nursing and population-focused practice. What is before us is the need for nurses who are able to straddle systems of care and focus on the needs of aggregates, no matter where health care services are provided and/or needed. Population-focused decision making, community-based strategies for health promotion and disease prevention, and primary care services are coming to the forefront of health care services.

  4. Analyze Healthy People 2010 and Healthier People in Wisconsin 2010 as they apply to the student's community.
